Enjoying the Wilderness (Lodge)

A Walk in the Sand

Jax walked in the sand for the very first time while we were in Orlando. It was a beautiful day. We look forward to going to the beach one day soon so that Jax can build a sandcastle.

A Warm Welcome

Mema and Granddaddy were waiting for us to arrive in the lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Jax was so happy to see them. We were tired from a long day but happy to be there. We settled in for a good night's rest and were anxiously awaiting going to the Magic Kingdom on Friday. The Wilderness Lodge was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It was very relaxing and secluded - a real wilderness feel!

Up, Up and Away!

It's off to see Mickey! Jax was a great traveler.

Christmas Lunch and a Few More Gifts

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Day lunch with Uncle Jay. We kept the menu simple since John, Jax and I were leaving for Orlando that afternoon. Scruffy and Tyler (Jay's doggies) joined the fun, too.

To Grandma's House We Go

A hug from Grandma! What's inside, Grandma?
Christmas Eve took us to Huntsville for a visit with Grandma. Jax loved seeing his Grandma and exploring new things at her house. She surprised us with a delicious lunch of prime rib, roasted vegetables, rice, Korean pancakes, raw veggies with dip and luscious cherries.
Jax loved helping Grandma unwrap her gifts. Her lovely bouquet of flowers arrived before we did so we got to enjoy them while we were there.
Before returning home we made a quick stop by my husby's aunt and uncle's home. They are such sweet people. It was nice to see them even though it was for just a few minutes.
We returned home in anxious anticipation of Santa's arrival.
