Happy Birthday, Uncle Jay!

Yesterday, Jay celebrated his special day. He didn't want a big celebration but he stopped by for a quick visit. Jax and I had a fun time giving him a couple of gifts. Of course, Jax loved helping unwrap his presents. Hope you had a great birthday, Uncle Jay!

A Teacher's Dream

Jax loves to read! We have been reading together since John and I brought him home. His favorites are Polar Bear, Polar Bear, I am a Bunny, Lull-a-bye, Little One, Goodnight Moon, Corduroy Goes to the Doctor and Skippyjon Jones up and down. I love to watch him gather all of his books together. He has learned to climb onto the glider rocker and loves to sit and read.

Play Date

John and I took Jax out for a fun play day. He loved swinging, sliding and climbing. We are looking forward to warmer days so that we can do this more often. Coco went along for the fun, too.

A Night Out for Mommy and Daddy!

We had a great Valentine's Day. The day began with warm cinnamon muffins and bacon. We all exchanged gifts early in the day. My wonderful husby gave me a beautiful black leather jacket. Jax got a new wooden train, a coloring book, crayons, and a few other things. My husby got a couple of T-shirts, yummy pancake mix, a personalized ice cream bowl, and gift cards to his favorite restaurants. Of course, Coco was not forgotten. She got some favorite treats and was very happy. Lunch was simple but fun. Heart shaped grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. We enjoyed delicious cupcakes, too. We went to the park for a few minutes. Jax loved the swings and the slide.

The afternoon was spent relaxing and enjoying time together. I snuck away for a manicure and pedicure while Jax took a long nap and John enjoyed some computer gaming time. I'm sure CoCo snuck in a few naps throughout the day. Uncle Jay stopped by to give Jax an adorable Valentine's Day Mickey Mouse. He brought along some fun sports shaped cookie cutters, too.

Our evening was equally fun. Mema and Granddaddy came over to spend time with Jax while my husby and I enjoyed a night out. We had dinner at Macaroni Grill with John having a filet mignon with creamy mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus and me having a delicious four cheese ravioli with mild Italian sausage. We had great food and wonderful conversation although we did miss our little boy. Jax kept Mema and Granddaddy busy the whole evening. I thought I would come home to a tired little boy but he was full of energy. It took him a few minutes to zonk out but I know he had a fantastic time playing with Mema and Granddaddy.

Getting serious!

Jax got a new table and chair set. I turned our guest room into a playroom for him a few days ago so I thought a table set would be a great addition to the room. Jax is beginning to outgrow his large play yard ("The Cage") in our bonus room since he is walking. I took down the queen bed and replaced it with a daybed. Perfect for afternoon naps by mommy while Jax plays. (Very funny and I wish.) Jax loves his new playroom. The playroom and his room are joined by a bathroom so he has freedom to travel back and forth. I set up an area for me also. It allows me to be with Jax as well as get things done such as meal planning, organizing photos, scrapbooking, bill paying, emails, etc. It was a lot of work but well worth it. Jax is very happy to have more space to play.

Snowflake Kisses for My Husby

I sent my wonderful husby of three years a cookie bouquet for our anniversary. It was from Cookies By Design and it was just perfect. My husby was very surprised when it arrived at his work on Wednesday. He brought it home on Thursday so that I could enjoy a bite or two of these delicious treats.

Celebrating a Special Day

Today is a very special day for my husby and me. Three years ago we were married at Brentwood Country Club. We had a lovely wedding and reception. It actually snowed a little throughout the day. We have had a wonderful three years together.

Sunday was a fun day spent eating good food and watching the Super Bowl. I made chili, wings, cheese dip and cupcakes. My husby and I were cheering for the Cardinals so the outcome wasn't the best for us but we had a great time anyway.

Waking Up

Jax loves to start his morning with a cold cup of milk and a good book. Here he is reading I Am A Bunny given to him by his Aunt Julie. It was a favorite of his cousin Savannah. We read it often at night but this particular morning he chose to begin his day reading about Nicholas the bunny. So precious!

Lunch at Logan's

A couple of days ago Jax and I met Uncle Jay, Mema and Granddaddy at Logan's Roadhouse for a yummy lunch. It's one of our favorite places to eat. Jax loves spending time with everyone and he is definitely the center of attention. It's always fun to go out for a special lunch. Thanks for inviting us, Uncle Jay!

Quiet Moments

I love reading to my sweet baby Jax. It's one of my favorite things to do. Here we are reading Lull-a-bye Little One by Dianne Ochiltree. I think we have read it at least a thousand times. In fact, this particular night we read it twice and Jax would have liked for me to read it again but I was tired. It is such a blessing to have this quiet time together before Jax goes to sleep each night.

Snuggle Bug Club

Jax and I went to the library today for the Snuggle Bug Club. It was our first time and we had lots of fun. We enjoyed listening to Peekaboo Baby and learning a few new songs. We danced to the music and played under a parachute. It was a fun time to meet new friends.

Bringing Home Wonderful Memories

Time to leave the magical land of Disney. After a wonderful few days in Orlando we headed home on Monday. We were sad to leave but brought home memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks Mema and Granddaddy for a wonderful holiday with Mickey!
