A Tennessee Blizzard

Now this is snow!  It's been a while since we have seen this much snow.  Isn't it beautiful?  We had a great time being out yesterday.

A Belated Christmas with "Grandpa"

John's mom came for a visit last weekend.  She was not feeling well during the Christmas holidays so we had a belated celebration.  Jax loved helping her open her presents.  We  enjoyed lunch at Five Guys in Brentwood after our gift exchange.  So yummy - it was my first trip but it will not be my last.  Jax loved the peanuts.

Okay - so you may be thinking that my post title is a typo - well not exactly.  For some reason during Grandma's visit Jax started calling her Grandpa.  She was so funny about it.  It was so adorable that I don't think it bothered her.  We corrected him everytime he said it until finally we began to think that he really thought he was saying Grandma.  Who knows where this came from but it's just one of those sweet moments that we will always remember.  So thanks for visiting "Grandpa".  Hope to see you again soon.

Chuck E Cheese

What am I missing?  Is dinner really that important?
A fun night with my sweet boy!
So John and I finally took sweet baby Jax to Chuck E Cheese.  I have been reluctant since I am a germ-a-phobe.  I comforted myself with lots of hand sanitizer and a head to toe bath for Jax when we got home.  The reason I finally broke down was because a friend of mine told me about the incentive charts for potty training that CEC has on their website.  We are just in the beginning stages of potty training but I thought it was a great idea.  Of course for this to work Jax had to know what Chuck E Cheese was all about.  Thus our night out for fun, games and pizza.  Jax had a great time although I think he was a little overwhelmed.  He didn't stay on any ride for very long.  He went from game to game pushing buttons and checking it all out.  We plan to start serious potty training in a few weeks so now maybe the CEC incentive chart will really work.  Jax already wants to go back so that's a good sign.  I'll keep you posted.

New Friends

Abbie, Sophie, Jax
What an adorable picture!
Last Thursday Jax was invited for a play date by my friend Paula.  She has two adorable girls - Sophie and Abbie.  Abbie is just a few months younger than Jax.  Another friend of Paula's brought her children as well.  Joshua is a few months older than Jax and Julia is a few months old.  They all had a great time playing together.  As you can see the three little musicians had a great time "playing" the piano.  After playing for a while we enjoyed lunch together.  It was a fun outing for us.

Chillin' with CoCo

One day I looked down the stairs and this is what I saw.  Jax was just hanging out with CoCo - content as could be.  Oh..... to have more moments like these!

Going for a Ride

John, Jax and I enjoyed a fun day at the mall.  We had lunch in the food court and then spent a little while checking out all of the cool rides.  Jax loves the Carousel so it was fun for him to get to ride with his Daddy.

Multi-tasking

Jax is learning the art of multi-tasking at a young age.  I am so proud of him!

A Snowy Day and A Picnic

What a fun snow day!  Jax and I had a delicious (indoor) picnic for lunch.  We enjoyed ham and cheese sandwiches, mini tater tots, chicken noodle soup and apple slices.  Yum!

Jax loved the snow!  I wish we had gotten enough to build a snowman.  Maybe next time!

Mommy - I'm cold!

My Wedding Tree

From this......

to this!

My very own winter wonderland!  I love my tree - my wedding tree!  I used the  table arrangements from my wedding reception to create this beautiful tree - thus the title "My Wedding Tree".  I also used the bows that were used for the ceremony for a tree topper.  It was fun decorating it and thinking of that very special day almost four years ago now.  Thank you, Jay for such a great idea!
