My Little Artist

An Original by Jax K. Dooner - Priceless!

A few days ago Jax showed off his artistic ability. I was busy doing something (in the same room) and I realized before I even turned around what the he was doing. Of course, my first reaction was "oh no - my wall". Then I realized that it was just one of those precious "first". Besides it's just a wall and we plan to paint it in the near future anyway. I think it's a very good first attempt at drawing - don't you?

A "Loveless" Evening

Friday morning I received a call from my mom inviting us to go to the Loveless Cafe for dinner. What a treat! John, Jax and I met Mema and Granddaddy for a wonderful night out. Jax loved the biscuits and blackberry preserves. Everything was delicious. It was nice to enjoy an evening out with no clean up! Thanks for the invitation.

Crazy Days

Jax loves to help his Daddy!

AS SEEN ON TV - THE GRABBER
Needless to say it has been busy in the Dooner home. My boys keep me on my toes. I get one settled and the other one needs something. We have had some crazy days but all in all everything is going great. John has gotten good reports from his orthopedic surgery and his pulmonary doctor. His physical therapy is going well, also. He worked from home this week and plans to return to the office on Monday.

King of the World

Looking good, Honey!
Jax was happy to see his daddy but happier to have the remote! Daddy doesn't have buttons!

Well, at least King of the Dooner home! Jax and I are so happy to have daddy home. What should have been "just a broken leg" turned into a week long hospital stay because of some complications. I'm happy to say that he is on the mend now. I am so grateful for all of the prayers that brought my husband through surgery and home to Jax and me.

Letting Go

The past week has been a challenging one for the Dooner Family. My wonderful "husby" broke his leg in a hockey game on Sunday. What appeared to be "just a broken leg" turned into a week of complications and more. Thankfully, he had surgery yesterday and all looks great. I'm looking forward to bringing him home today or tomorrow. Besides all of the anxiety and worry that a hospital stay brings I had the added worry of caring for my 19 month old as well as taking care of my "husby". I am blessed with a wonderful family that stepped in and took a lot off of me. Jax was very well taken care of and is happy as can be. I learned this week that it is okay to let go and sometimes there is no choice. It was hard though. Jax and I spend so much time together. We have our routines, our silly songs and dances, our peek-a-boo game during lunch. So many things that no one else knows. I know he has missed days with his mommy but he has been just fine all week. Letting go is very hard but I learned a great lesson this week. Thank you to everyone that has helped me with my precious baby. He is truly a joy and I have missed him this week but so grateful that you took the worry of caring for him away so that I could focus on my "husby" who needed me.

A Snowy Beginning

I was so happy this morning when I woke up to see that we had gotten a little more than a dusting of beautiful white snow. My first thought was to get Jax dressed and head out the door. Too bad that thought didn't become a reality. After we had breakfast we played for a few minutes and then it was time to get ready for church. By the time we returned home the snow was melting. Oh well, Jax caught a glimpse of the background covered in the white stuff. Maybe we will get lucky and have little more snow before winter officially ends. I would love to have pictures of Jax and CoCo playing in the snow.
